The Never-Ending Story
- Greed - desiring for the self to enhance/inflate our story, 'good for the I'
- Hate - deflating our Story, want as little as possible, do not want for the self things that do not not fit into our story, 'bad for the I'
- Ignorance - creating ignorant stories of your self, taking an ignorant thought to be true because it is convenient to your Story construct. Denying (including avoiding) truth by thinking ignorantly. Useless talking (mumbo jumbo) usually because of mental boredom
The Buddhists call these the 3 poisons. The snake represents greed; the bird is hate; pig is ignorance. They are all connected to each other and manipulated by the 5 senses as long as we identify our actual identity with any of the 5 senses.
Every thought or emotion that arises will put together stories to explain the identity of your self, other people, situations, and phenomena as WHO I am in order to fit in with your version of reality. Because you believe you are your thinking mind and not the Ego (which has the conscience), the thinking mind can only replace or imitate the conscience by deciding for itself by JUDGING what is good or bad according to its story and logic. The story may be true but it is never the entire truth and therefore bias, it can be a half truth or a version of the truth or just completely ignorant of the truth. You need the Ego to see the entire truth and the entire truth is always in all cases much much better. The thinking mind can not understand the true essence of people, phenomena, situations, it can only resort to judging what is 'good' and 'bad' for the Self (your Story) and therefore has to create a story to explain it. So in a way, the thinking mind is only a storyteller. And we are choosing to believe in stories. The story uses emotional justification and will be stubborn that it is the ONLY story that is true! A story can not define phenomena because the story is not alive. We must separate the story from the actual phenomena that is alive, such as human beings, the actual being, where the true essence can be found. A story may be important but it still does not take away the real identity of a being unless we choose to believe that others identity or our own identity is the story.
The World of the Mental Plane/The World of 'Good for the I' & 'Bad for the I' can only put together stories that we refer to in order to explain everything at any given moment. Please go to this short reading to learn more about the 'story' concept: The Addiction to Your Story
