Life, the Universe, and Everything Else: Know your reality.

Life, the Universe, and Everything Else: Know your reality.
We are the most fascinating thing in the universe. It is us. The human being is designed perfectly.

This blog is not meant for those with an untrained eye and not for the insincere. It is also not self-righteous. It focuses on the actual practice, pushing aside conspiracies and history information that don't do anything for real progression and only serve as a distraction for those who are seeking real Truth: which is in the practice and can be attained now, we are not here to waste time. We are separating our Self and reality into parts which is like trying to play each instrument in an orchestra which does nothing but cause chaos. Your very mind is the gateway to real progression: as in you are not your thinking mind, which is governing ALL ASPECTS of your life. You must figure out what you truly are, your real nature -- not the illusory nature -- using sincere contemplation and the process of elimination, WHO you are NOT. Surprise, you do not need meditation which is exactly like riding on a donkey. There is no time for meditation. Get on the jet plane and the method is the Mirror, it is time to see the Self as a Whole unit and not divided into individual and separated parts. Use direct experience as a vehicle for your quest to understand and figure out Absolute Reality. Cymatic Music

This reaffirms myself as a believer. Not a believer in the shallow sense but a believer in the intelligent sense -- striking the ego once again. This shakes the very ground of the illusion we tend to drift back into. Reality...this immense force...that we serve a purpose...that we are not just a random existence...that we are inside an immaculate mystery. Such simplicity contains something so... Powerful. Such poetic beauty enough to draw tears. Absolutely mind-blowing indeed. Enjoy.

Heaven in Thought

Osho, through the writings of Atisha, explains how to deal with anger:
"There are 3 difficulties in becoming aware. These are very essential for each seeker to understand. In fact everybody becomes aware, but only when the act is finished.
1. One is becoming aware while the act is happening ... Anger is there like a smoke inside you. Becoming aware in the very thick of it, that is the first difficulty, but it is not impossible. ... In the beginning, you will see, you become aware when the anger has gone and everything has cooled. ... Try -- you will become aware after 5 minutes. Try a little more -- you will become aware immediately after one minute. Try a little more, and you will become aware when the anger is evaporating. Try a little more, and you will become aware exactly in the middle of it.
...
2. The second step ... is remembering before the act: when the act has not happened yet but is still a thought in you; it has not been actualized but it has become a thought in your mind. It is there, potentially there like a seed; it can become the act at any moment.
...
3. And the third difficulty is to catch hold of this process ... before it becomes a thought. That is the most difficult ... Before anything becomes a thought, it is a feeling. These are the three things: feeling comes first, then comes thought, then comes the act. You may not be aware at all that each thought is produced by a certain feeling. If the feeling is not there, the thought will not come. Feelings become actualized in thought, thought becomes actualized in the act."

Heaven in People

From Wikipedia
Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marina_Abramovi%C4%87

When [artists] Abramović and Ulay began their [artistic] collaboration, the main concepts they explored were the ego and artistic identity. This was the beginning of a decade of influential collaborative work. Each performer was interested in the traditions of their cultural heritages and the individual’s desire for ritual. Consequently, they decided to form a collective being called “the other”, and spoke of themselves as parts of a “two-headed body”. They dressed and behaved like twins, and created a relationship of complete trust. As they defined this phantom identity, their individual identities became less accessible. In an analysis of phantom artistic identities, Charles Green has noted that this allowed a deeper understanding of the artist as performer, for it revealed a way of “having the artistic self made available for self-scrutiny.”
.....
In discussing this phase of her performance history, Abramović has said: “The main problem in this relationship was what to do with the two artists’ egos. I had to find out how to put my ego down, as did he, to create something like a hermaphroditic state of being that we called the death self.”

Marina Abramovic and Ulay started an intense love story in the 70s, performing art out of the van they lived in. When they felt the relationship had runs its course, they decided to walk the Great Wall of China, each from one end, meeting for one last big hug in the middle and never seeing each other again.
At her 2010 MoMa retrospective Marina performed 'The Artist Is Present' as part of the show, where she shared a minute of silence with each stranger who sat in front of her. Ulay arrived without her knowing and this is what happened.

Heaven in Thought

"Surrender is out of love, dependency is out of fear ... Surrender has no desire in it. It is sheer joy, it is trust, it is unmotivated ... Surrender is the highest form of love, the purest form of love. You will not feel dependent, because there will be no clinging in it. You will not feel dependent, because it is not out of loneliness that you have surrendered. If you have surrendered out of loneliness then it is not surrender at all, then it is something else ... You simply find yourself melting into somebody, into something. You may find yourself melting into a sunset, and it is surrender. You may find yourself melting into the starry night, and it is surrender. You may find yourself melting into a woman or a man, and it is surrender. You may find yourself melting into music, and it is surrender. Surrender has many dimensions, but the taste is the same: you simply find yourself melting. You simply find yourself no more; a kind of egolessness is felt."

The Sleeping Consciousness

Ignorance is the Result of Unawareness

The belief system constructs we have been conditioned into since birth make up your reality. But this is a false reality because everything in this belief system is based on ignorance. It is ignorance because no one really knows anything in its totality, the first of them being doctors and scientists. Through interdependence, this universal belief construct system then forms an illusory reality that we all live in and believe in because we entrust the status quo. You say to yourself, just because everyone believes in it makes it real. This illusory reality forms the Sleeping Consciousness. Living, working the 9 to 5, eating, the mundane day to day activities  special events on the weekends, gossip, relationships, the latest technology, what's happening on the news ... and so on. But moreso, as taught by the Gnostic Samael Aun Weor, we are literally asleep because if we are awakened, then our consciousness would remember our previous lives. In order to awaken we would have to  "pierce the 'forgetting process' which occurs at birth" (The Law of One by Ra) into this incarnation.  However for this post we will just be focusing on the illusion aspect of the Sleeping Consciousness.

The reason we don't understand or can't figure out our Truth, connecting to who and what we are and what life is, is because of the ignorance that results directly from our unawareness. And most of the time we are unaware that we are ignorant in the first place. We live too much in our heads that we forget about what is actually real: the here and now. We are so involved with all the voices in our minds, attaching to this thought, attaching to that thought, believing this, believing that. The more you get wrapped up in these voices and thoughts, the more unaware you become. The Buddhist practices nonattachment to things, including the thoughts that whiz around in our minds. Out of countless thoughts that whiz around you seem to attach to one of those thoughts. Why is that?

The more quiet your mind becomes, the more awareness you have about reality or the Truth. Falsely living too much in our mind makes things very illusory. We can't live too much in the mind. That is extreme because the mind is responsible for analyzing and processing information that the 5 senses sends to the brain. However when you are to look at something with the naked eye, you will not see molecules because eyesight is limited and therefore your brain takes the image information for granted. We entrust too much to the brain just like we do with the status quo. With the uncontrollable thinking and thinking, the mind is preoccupied and distracted with the ether at all times and all that chatter builds up like a pressure cooker. In order to release the pressure you would have to meditate because meditation is needed to quiet the mind and reground yourself. Get back to what's real, back in your physical body and in the here and now. Meditate to quiet the mind and gravitate your being downwards towards the correct center of the human where the heart and solar plexus chakra are (search this blog to read more on the solar plexus). The center is not your head.

Another important problem to point out with people's false assumptions is the fact that people assume that Truth or Reality comes in a book, like a how-to or math book. It takes heaps of patience and a wealth of direct experience to learn and know what you are and this can only happen individually because every one of us has different challenges from the other. It takes constant progressive work on ourselves in order to illuminate our awareness because it takes effort to learn with certainty and to evolve to a higher level of being. The greatest individuals that have walked this Earth are guiding us because we are the lost souls. They guide us to realness but they can only point us in the right direction but you would have to walk it yourself. So in order to learn and know for yourself, it will have to take direct experience, it can not be read in the words of others because again you can't understand such words in its totality unless you have experienced it first. The process is to deconstruct this false ignorant reality and build one based on awareness to evolve. This is why it is tragic for people to remain in a stagnant routine -- they are the sleeping ones. They are disconnected from reality. But you are not alone in the search for yourself. Nature speaks to you all the time through the language of direct experience and intuition, but you are unaware that it can even speak. This is the problem with living in cities because it makes you forget about your nature by disconnecting you from the natural world, creating a world of delusion.

There is something peculiar about our circumstance. Here we are, mortal beings on a planet that goes around a sun along with other planets in the middle of a large galaxy with billions of other solar systems in a universe filled with billions of galaxies. Things are made up of largely empty space down to the subatomic particles. Yet we don't pay attention to any of that! We can't even grasp any of it or find poetic meaning behind existence. We forget about these in our daily lives. Our little nuances, our tiny troubles. That's how peculiar we are.

This is why it is important to meditate for the purpose of meditation is to figure out reality. With meditation all concentration is focused on one point with minimal distraction so that you can become aware of what is real. Problems will be solved by simply being aware of the root. You will be aware of every moment, you will see the mysterious synchronicites, you will know that you are not alone, and you will progress your level of being. It is all here right now. Please search this blog to learn how to meditate, there are videos as well as a book posted on here that will teach you.

Heaven in Writing

This is an advanced short book written by Venerable Pa-Auk Sayadaw, Mindfullness of Breathing & Four Elements Meditation. It contains detailed instructions on how to meditate. This is a very serious book for the learning adept. It explains how to hold the 'Nimitta', a phenomenon that appears through a deeper level during concentration practice. He further details how to take that into 'Jhana', a state where the mind is free of any obstacles and distractions and fully absorbed in the 'Nimitta'. The book also discusses the Four Elements Meditation. I will be discussing the Four Elements in a separate post which will be critical to understanding the importance of this kind of meditation.

Phenomena Experienced in Altered State Hallucinogens Are a Real Part of Our Universe & Consciousness?

An intriguing lecture by Graham Hancock suggesting that ancient art such as cave drawings and sculptures from all around the world depict a phenomena that is part of the universe that ancient shamans can see and the artists of such drawings were shamans. The creatures and geometric patterns in these art are similar to the sentient beings and patterns experienced by people who have taken DMT, peyote, ayahuasca, mushrooms, and other altered state hallucinogens. All of these are suggesting that the phenomena being experienced in these trips are part of the Universe's reality, that this world or dimension or phenomena is real. Mr. Hancock also explains why it may be real.

Language and Consciousness

I love these Thinking Allowed interviews. Jeffrey Mishlove has another great person's brain to pick. What Stephen Pinker explains here on the subject of Language and Consciousness is agreeing with what Eckhart Tolle says when responding to a question asking about the Ego in my post titled Did the Universe Make a Mistake With the Ego? (fast forward to 3:09). Both answers connect the teachings of ancient schools / esoteric thought and their knowledge regarding language being developed at a later stage in human evolution. Very interesting as well as illuminating. You can forward to 0:33 - 3:53.

So then how can God/Source/Existence/All That Is be outside of you? The Divine is within YOU. I will soon post the key that bridges this -- the key that is reincarnation.

Recognizing the Seat of the Soul

In this interview with Jeffrey Mishlove, Gary Zukav blew my mind. Not only is this somewhat a synchronicity to today's post, "A New Age of Consciousness" which discusses the awareness that we are spiritual beings, Dr. Zukav further discusses the need to look beyond our 5 senses because the 5 senses act like one sensory system whose object is physical reality. We need to evolve into multi-sensory humans, to go beyond the limited fabric of physical reality into non-physical to understand the larger fabric of life, which is the evolution of the immortal soul with the participation of non-physical beings, guides, and teachers. He also talks about  intuition and communicating with non-physical beings. The entire interview is wonderfully explained and quite pleasant to watch. Wow. Enjoy.

The Scarab or Dung Beetle in Ancient Egypt

A 'heart scarab' amuletScarab

Scarab Beetle

(kheper)

Appearance: The particular species of beetle represented in the numerous ancient Egyptian amulets and works of art was commonly the large sacred scarab (Scarabaeus sacer). This beetle was famous for his habit of rolling balls of dung along the ground and depositing them in its burrows. The female would lay her eggs in the ball of dung. When they hatched, the larvae would use the ball for food. When the dung was consumed the young beetles would emerge from the hole.
Millions of amulets and stamp seals of stone or faience were fashioned in Egypt depicted the scarab beetle.
Meaning: It seemed to the ancient Egyptians that the young scarab beetles emerged spontaneously from the burrow were they were born. Therefore they were worshipped as "Khepera", which means "he was came forth." This creative aspect of the scarab was associated with the creator god Atum.
The ray-like antenna on the beetle's head and its practice of dung-rolling caused the beetle to also carry solar symbolism. The scarab-beetle god Khepera was believed to push the setting sun along the skyin the same manner as the bettle with his ball of dung. In many artifacts, the scarab is depicted pushing the sun along its course in the sky.
During and following the New Kingdom, scarab amulets were often placed over the heart of the mummified deceased. These "heart scarabs" (such as the one pictured above) were meant to be weighed against the feather of truth during the final judgement. The amulets were often inscribed with a spell from the Book of the Dead which entreated the heart to, "do not stand as a witness against me."

In the News: Dung Beetles Navigate Via the Milky Way, First Known in Animal Kingdom

Talk about star power—a new study shows that dung beetles navigate via the Milky Way, the first known species to do so in the animal kingdom.
The tiny insects can orient themselves to the bright stripe of light generated by our galaxy, and move in a line relative to it, according to recent experiments in South Africa.
“This is a complicated navigational feat—it’s quite impressive for an animal that size,” said study co-author Eric Warrant, a biologist at the University of Lund in Sweden.

Moving in a straight line is crucial to dung beetles, which live in a rough-and-tumble world where competition for excrement is fierce. (Play “Dung Beetle Derby” on the National Geographic Kids website.)
Once the beetles sniff out a steaming pile, males painstakingly craft the dung into balls and roll them as far away from the chaotic mound as possible, often toting a female that they have also picked up. The pair bury the dung, which later becomes food for their babies.
But it’s not always that easy. Lurking about the dung pile are lots of dung beetles just waiting to snatch a freshly made ball. (Related: “Dung Beetles’ Favorite Poop Revealed.”)
That’s why ball-bearing beetles have to make a fast beeline away from the pile.
“If they roll back into the dung pile, it’s curtains,” Warrant said. If thieves near the pile steal their ball, the beetle has to start all over again, which is a big investment of energy.
Seeing Stars
Scientists already knew that dung beetles can move in straight lines away from dung piles by detecting a symmetrical pattern of polarized light that appears around the sun. We can’t see this pattern, but insects can thanks to special photoreceptors in their eyes.
Milky Way picture
The Milky Way glimmers over Indonesia. Photograph by Justin Ng, Your Shot.
But less well-known was how beetles use visual cues at night, such as the moon and its much weaker polarized light pattern. So Warrant and colleagues went to a game farm in South Africa to observe the nocturnal African dung beetle Scarabaeus satyrus. (Read another Weird & Wild post on why dung beetles dance.)
Attracting the beetles proved straightforward: The scientists collected buckets of dung, put them out, and waited for the beetles to fly in.
But their initial observations were puzzling. S. satyrus could still roll a ball in a straight line even on moonless nights, “which caused us a great deal of grief—we didn’t know how to explain this at all,” Warrant said.
Then, “it occurred to us that maybe they were using the stars—and it turned out they were.”
Dapper Beetles
To test the star theory, the team set up a small, enclosed table on the game reserve, placed beetles in them, and observed how the insects reacted to different sky conditions. The team confirmed that even on clear, moonless nights, the beetles could still navigate their balls in a straight line.
To show that the beetles were focusing on the Milky Way, the team moved the table into theJohannesburg Planetarium, and found that the beetles could orient equally well under a full starlit sky as when only the Milky Way was present. (See Milky Way pictures.)
Lastly, to confirm the Milky Way results, the team put little cardboard hats on the study beetles’ heads, blocking their view of the sky. Those beetles just rolled around and around aimlessly, according to the study, published recently in the journal Current Biology.
Picture of a dung beetle
The scientists put hats on the dung beetles to block their ability to see stars. This beetle, which is wearing a clear hat, acted as a control in one experiment. Photograph courtesy Eric Warrant.
Dung beetle researcher Sean D. Whipple, of the Entomology Department at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, said by email that the “awesome results …. provide strong evidence for orientation by starlight in dung beetles.”
He added that this discovery reveals another potential negative impact of light pollution, a global phenomenon that blocks out stars.
“If artificial light—from cities, houses, roadways, etc.—drowns out the visibility of the night sky, it could have the potential to impact effective orientation and navigation of dung beetles in the same way as an overcast sky,” Whipple said.
Keep On Rollin’
Study co-author Warrant added that other dung beetles likely navigate via the Milky Way, although the galaxy is most prominent in the night sky in the Southern Hemisphere.
What’s more, it’s “probably a widespread skill that insects have—migrating moths might also be able to do it.”
As for the beetles themselves, they were “very easy to work with,” he added.
“You can do anything you want to them, and they just keep on rolling.”

The Moon - God of Reflection

Reflection is the key word here. Because as I flipped around YouTube I was curious to know what Bashar (Darryl Anka; search this blog to learn more about who Bashar is) had to say about the moon. What is most interesting about his explanation is that it goes in line with exactly what the ancients in the esoteric mystery schools believed or, to better word it, knew and were aware of.

Compare what Jonathan Black writes with Bashar's explanation in the video below:
"The god of reflection was the god of the great reflector in the sky -- the moon. In all ancient cultures the moon regulated not only fertility [for i.e. 'menstruation' is etymologically related to 'moon'] but thought.

In fact the initiate priests believed that, in order to create the conditions in which human thought would be possible, the cosmos had had to arrange itself in a particular way. In order for human reflection to be possible, the sun and the moon had had to arrange themselves in the sky so that the moon reflected the light of the sun down to earth."
